Vacancy: Contracts Manager - Project Management Unit

The Development Coordination Division (DCD) is seeking applications for a Contracts Manager – Project Management Unit (CM). This is a Cook Islands based full time, permanent role sitting within the Development Coordination Division (DCD) of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Management.

The CM will be responsible for providing oversight management of multiple contracts for suppliers of goods and/or services funded by government and its development partners. The position mainly involves, but is not limited to the effective and efficient implementation of the national water and wastewater infrastructure programmes. The CM is also responsible for training key stakeholders within the Water & Wastewater sector, as well as management and administrative support to Government authorities and stakeholders. Extensive collaboration with a wide range of government, private sector and NGO’s is a key element to this position.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Proven experience in supplier and contract management;
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of financial management, implementing development initiatives, and project/programme management;
  • A demonstrated ability to develop and manage partnerships with donors, government counterparts, the private sector and civil society;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal);
  • Knowledge of governance and development issues in the Cook Islands and the region in general;
  • Solid knowledge of core governmental policies, in relation to the Development field.
